Macro UV cuvettes are made of a UV-transparent plastic, which in many applications represents a practical alternative to fragile glass or quartz cuvettes that were previously outside the range of plastic cuvettes. These cuvettes are designed for single use, thus eliminating the risk of cross-contamination associated with washing and reusing cuvettes. They are ideally suited for determinations in water analysis, chemistry, and life science applications. Macro UV cuvettes exhibit very high chemical resistance. They can be used with most polar solvents, acids, and bases and fit into most commercially available spectrophotometers without the need for adapters. Slight dimensional deviations between cavities are unavoidable despite state-of-the-art technology. This can lead to greater variation in extinction values between cuvettes from different cavities. Therefore, cuvettes originating from the same cavity are automatically packed in the same carton. To achieve the best results, always use cuvettes with the same cavity number for each series of analyses. The light path for each cuvette is 10 mm. Recessed windows protect against scratches, and a clearly engraved arrow indicates the orientation of the beam path. Macro UV cuvettes have a filling volume of 2.5 ml to 4.5 ml. The window dimensions are 10 mm (width) x 35 mm (height). They are ideally suited for measurements in the wavelength range of 230 nm to 900 nm.
